In general

  • The break

A short, fast, hollow left at the north end of the Lobos bay, over sand between rocks.

  • Swell

The swell reaches it by bending around the Lobos headland. South-west is best. South arrives weak.

  • Wind

Only an east wind is offshore, and nothing shelters it from the rest. From October to April it is a morning wave.

  • Tide

No best tide is confirmed. At very low tide rocks show at the shore.

  • Current

There are strong currents near the rocks. On your first time, ask locals where to paddle out and back in.

For you

BeginnerNo

Infiernillo is never for beginners. The wave is fast and breaks close to the rocks.

IntermediateNo

With overhead waves and cross-shore wind, this is beyond what this level should take on.

AdvancedYes07:00–11:00

Waves of 1.5 to 2 m on a 13 second swell with light cross-shore wind. After that the southwest chops it up. (the point)
